BGN gets educated by Damian Hinds

As part of our recent drive to build on our membership, BGN, East Hampshire’s foremost business networking and referrals group has been offering a free initial visit for potential joiners.

One such interested party, a Mr Damian Hinds came along this week for a free fried breakfast at Langrish House and the opportunity to talk to the group about what he’s been up to recently.

We like to give anyone a fair crack of the whip and despite admitting that he is currently serving at Her Majesty’s pleasure, Damian promised us that he was also fully involved in full time education and has gained experience as a Secetary.

Damian Hinds breakfasts with BGN

Secretary of State for Education and local MP Damian Hinds explains things in simple terms for BGN members.

Anyway, we’ll give Damian’s joining application due consideration when we receive it, but there was a question over whether other commitments would make it difficult for him to attend every Wednesday morning breakfast meeting. Apparently he has meetings in another historic pile on Wednesdays though he did suggest some of his colleagues (Theresa? Boris?) could sub for him.

Damian’s presentation went down well and stimulated a lot of questions on education from those in the room who had received one, other queries around whether BGN members can recruit paperboys and girls as apprentices and whether grants for growing flowers will stop after we send our resident photographer Monsiuer Focard back to his homeland.
