Merde-r on the dancefloor. Crazy Frog to make new appearance at networking Christmas do

This week BGN, Hampshire’s foremost business networking group bid a sad farewell to outgoing chairman, Lee Stewart of Design and Print IT in Liphook, to be replaced by DJ Joe Smith, with Matt Evans of EweMove as his vice.

Chairman Lee will be sorely missed for his motivational jokes and radical ideas to spice up our weekly networking breakfasts such as “Guess the number of baked beans in the can”, and any opportunity to turn up in fancy dress.

but may still produce nightmares

However, he’s not going far. He’ll still be able to snipe at the new leadership team from the backbenches while being able to spend more time with his family and playing with his balls in the park, and the dog.

Focussed networking - who do you want referring to?

THis week’s prize for best pitch went to Craig Walker of Tech 4 Homes, while Giles Cleverley of Syn Star computer repair and IT support based in Rake told us exactly what sort of business he’s after (SME’s struggling with IT that’s slowing them down and businesses that want IT support to actually show up in person, if you’re curious).

Being specific about who you want an introduction to is a “must” when networking.

Oh, and 19 opportunities for business were passed around the room.

It’s “Merde-r” on the Dance Floor - Christmas party gets Gallic flavour

It’s not all work at BGN. We believe you can only truly know and recommend someone for business once you’ve seen them on the dance-floor, which so we’re holding our annual Christmas party on 14 December.

New chairman, DJ and all-round entertainments man Joe Smith is providing the music and we’re all hoping for a reprise of last year’s moving dance performance by our own Crazy Frog Michel Focard.

Michel told a moving tale of someone being set on fire in a wind tunnel, with subsequent attempts to put himself out, through the medium of modern interpretive dance - very French.
