New chairman for BGN business network group makes an entry

Exciting new direction for East Hampshire’s ‘sickest’ business referrals group

As part of our six monthly cycle, BGN' newly elected chairman Matt Evans of Ewe Move is injecting a youthful element into proceedings. He kicked off our weekly business networking breakfast at Langrish House with some rad stunts on his new scooter.

Matt’s antics obviously did the trick with 22 business referrals passed round the crowded room over breakfast. Time will tell how many new members his crazy slapstick estate agent antics will attract.

Marketing is all about telling a compelling story that bonds with the audience. Petersfield physio Gerry O’Neill showed just how that’s done to win this week’s prize for best 60-second pitch, telling us how she deployed her knowledge to the victim of a stair fall. Apparently steps account for 1000 deaths and 250,000 non-fatal injuries every year in the UK. Makes you realise how ineffectual Al Quaeda really is.

We encourage our members to practise presenting to audiences and as well as our 60-second “elevator pitches” we take turns to give a longer talk about our business. This week it was Jack Miller of True Potential financial advisors to tell us where we should be putting our money (pensions).
