Pitch prizes all round at BGN

Honourable mentions came in thick and fast for 60-second pitch deliverers at BGN business networking group this morning on a chilly East Hampshire morning.

We all get to practice our elevator pitches and are judged for content as part of the regular routine to improve our presentation skills.

Kev Snuggs of Kingsbury Home Improvements (Liphook) was name-checked for his consistently sunny and upbeat demeanour and further honourable mentions went to Robina, owner of Langrish House, the upmarket B&B where BGN meets, for slipping into some barrack-room language when guests demand aircon (can’t they open a window?) and of course John Raeyen of photocopier suppliers Trio Systems because he’d be upset if he didn’t get one.

Reliable Gardener Steve Smith from Liss won the prize for best pitch for keeping it clean.

We welcomed a number of visitors to this week’s BGN, East Hampshire’s meatiest  breakfast business meeting including Ace Cleaning and Dale Carnegie Training. We’re always on the look-out for guests as well as prospective members to keep the group fresh (or at least smelling less).

Not sure what they thought though during our regular business presentation when the aforementioned Mr Raeyen gave us six minutes of the Confessions of a Photocopier Repair man (was it only six minutes?) spiced up with tales of carpet stains and parts pumped dry by over-eager customers.

Business opportunities exchanged

We had a very busy start to the day with 16 opportunities for business passed between members, which is the main reason the group is so popular.
